At 5:07 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of possible vandalism to public property. After investigation, it was found that someone had drawn on a cement wall with chalk and did not appear to have caused any damage.

At 3:30 p.m. officers were notified of possible domestic instances that had taken place in Merrill and were just reported to a different police department. The reporting individual was not able to speak to officers at the time. Investigation is ongoing.
03-09-2022
At 7:31 p.m. officers responded to a fire in the basement of a residence. Officers responded and assisted the Merrill Fire Department as needed.
03-10-2022
At 3:30 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Probation and Parole for a wanted person. The suspect was arrested for a Probation violation.
At 8:20 p.m. officers were dispatched for a disturbance at a home on Cleveland Street. A female party reported that her boyfriend’s mother pulled her hair. Officers investigated and spoke with both parties. The female party and her boyfriend were in the process of moving out of the residence at the time of the incident. Both parties were warned for the behavior and separated.

At 5:27 p.m. officers were dispatched to a local business after a male had attempted to leave the store with multiple items that were not paid for. After investigating, the male was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
At 12:29 p.m. a vehicle’s tires were reported to have been slashed overnight at an apartment complex. This was reported to be the second incident to the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
03-12-2022
At 4:55 p.m. two people with possible warrants out for their arrest were reported to be at a local business. Upon arrival to the business, officers made contact with one of the individuals. The warrant was confirmed and she was taken into custody. A male that was with the female was also taken into custody after it was learned that he was not to have contact with the female. The other individual who was reported to have a warrant at the business was observed driving past while officers were still present. The vehicle was stopped and the male was taken into custody.
At 11:05 p.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic altercation occurring at a residence. After speaking with both parties, it was found that the wife and husband had gotten into an argument and the male had hit the female and pulled her hair. The female was then able to leave the room and call 911. As a result of the incident, the male was taken into custody. The next morning at approximately 3:45 a.m., the male was observed back at the residence which was in violation of the 72-hour no-contact order that had been put in place. The male was again taken into custody for violation of the no-contact order.
03-13-2022
At 1:15 a.m. a vehicle was stopped after it was observed losing control and fishtailing. When officers made contact with the driver, a strong odor of intoxicants was coming from his person. The driver was put through the standard field sobriety tests and, as a result, taken into custody for operating in violation of absolute sobriety. The passenger was also confirmed to have been drinking and was cited for underage drinking.
