MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

03-06-23
At 10:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in reference to disorderly conduct. The individuals involved were arguing in the hallway and slamming doors. One individual threatened the other with a knife and was eventually arrested the following the day.
At 6:54 p.m. officers were dispatched to a business for an argument which was taking place outside. Officers arrived on scene and separated the two parties. Neither individual was arrested; however, both were asked to leave the property.

03-07-23
At 11:06 a.m. officers were dispatched to the business area of E. Main St. for a fight in progress. Officers were informed that a female struck a male party and the male party then pushed the female. Before officers arrived on scene, the two parties left, but were located shortly after. Both the female and male were placed under arrest.
At 2:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of harassment. A female party had received a large number of phone calls from a male party. The female party had made a complaint earlier in the year in hopes that the phone calls would stop. The male party would also show up to the female’s residence and the female was concerned for her safety. Contact was made with the male party and he was cited as a result.
At 6:46 p.m. officers responded to a residence for a report of a disorderly conduct between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Officers were informed that the reporting party could hear the male party yelling and punching a wall through the telephone. Officers arrived on scene and heard a male yelling inside the residence. The female party had ended the relationship with the male party, and he didn’t want it to end. During the argument, the male party became disorderly. The male party was placed under arrest.

03-08-23
At 8:00 a.m. an officer observed a male parked in the City Hall lot, right outside the Police Captain’s office, who was observed by law enforcement smoking marijuana in his vehicle. The man was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.
At 12:43 p.m. a store reported someone stole merchandise after finding packaging in the restroom. This matter is under Investigation.

03-09-23
At 8:03 a.m. a caller reported a male was in contact with a female in violation of a court order. It was confirmed that the male had an open bond prohibiting him from contacting the female in question. It was determined the male had contact with the female on this date and an argument took place between them. The man was arrested for bail jumping.
At 3:23 p.m. an officer observed a male he knew to have a warrant for his arrest walking on W. Main St. The warrant was confirmed and the man was arrested for that warrant.

03-10-23
At 8:58 p.m. a caller reported that they had not heard from their elderly mother in the last 24 hours and wanted a welfare check done. When officers arrived on scene, they located an elderly female lying on the floor. She advised officers that she had been on the floor since 2:30 p.m. The female was transported to the hospital.

03-12-23
At 10:00 p.m. officers were notified of a semi-truck that was stuck on E. Main St. near incredibleBank. The roads were icy, which caused the semi-truck to not be able to drive over a small hill. Officers assisted the driver in turning his vehicle around and helped escort him out of the City.
At 10:00 p.m. an officer located a crash involving a vehicle and a traffic light pole. The vehicle sustained minor damages, and the driver was uninjured; however, the pole broke from its foundation and fell into the road. The Street Department was notified and tasked with removing and repairing the damaged pole.
