At approximately 5:35 p.m. officers were notified of a theft which occurred on the west side of town. A license plate was removed from a vehicle and taken without permission. The investigation is still ongoing on this incident.

At 4:45 a.m. a caller reported he heard someone in his garage and thought it was a burglar. It was found to be the man’s adult son who was huffing gasoline to get high. The son was arrested for abuse of a hazardous substance and bail jumping.
At 1:33 p.m. the school resource officer handled a theft report at a school. A pair of shoes was reported stolen from the locker room. Investigation is ongoing.
At 4:31 p.m. a caller reported her mother was being aggressive toward her. It was found the mother and adult daughter got into an argument during a supervised visitation with the daughter’s children, prompting the mother to yell profanities in the presence of the minor children, causing them to be fearful of her. The mother also poked the daughter in the nose. The mother was arrested for disorderly conduct.

At 1:11 a.m. a tavern reported a male patron had been banned from their establishment after causing problems there in December of 2022. The male had been asked to leave but refused. The man did leave while officers were responding. It was found the man has three open bonds, two of which stipulate he is not allowed in taverns. The man will be charged with three counts of bail jumping.
At 3:30 p.m. a female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
At 10:26 p.m. a caller reported a hit-and-run crash in the roundabout. It was reported that a pickup truck failed to yield while entering the roundabout and the caller’s vehicle was struck. The other vehicle fled the scene. A crash report and additional investigation is forthcoming.

At approximately 8:55 a.m. a caller reported a reckless driving complainant that occurs every morning at an apartment complex. A witness stated that the driver has almost hit her and her vehicle in the past few weeks. The driver was identified as a juvenile, who picks up a friend from the apartment complex every morning, and she was warned for her driving behavior.

At approximately 6:55 p.m. officers responded to a domestic altercation. The incident started as a verbal argument, however eventually escalated. One individual was eventually arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
At approximately 8:52 p.m. the Merrill Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local business for a man armed with firearm who was involved in a disturbance. Officers made contact with the suspect who was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for Going Armed while Intoxicated and Disorderly Conduct while Armed.
