MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

04-11-2022
At 5:57 p.m. a crash was reported in a parking lot. A vehicle had struck a light pole in the lot. A crash report was completed.

04-12-2022
At 9:03 a.m. a school reported graffiti on playground equipment. Investigation is ongoing.
At 10:26 p.m. Merrill officers assisted Merrill Fire Dept. with traffic control at a residential fire.

04-13-2022
At 12:15 a.m. Merrill officers were dispatched to a house fire and assisted with scene security and traffic control while on scene.
At 5:44 p.m. a domestic disturbance was reported to be occurring between a mother and daughter at a residence. Following the investigation, it was found that the daughter had been the predominate aggressor and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
At 7:33 p.m. officers were initially dispatched to a residence after it was reported that a resident at the house was recording the actions of a teenager also living at the residence. No violation was found to have occurred during the initial call. Officers were later again dispatched to that same residence after a knife block was reported to have been thrown at another individual in the house. Following the conclusion of the investigation, one female was taken into custody for throwing the knife block and causing injury to the other involved individual.

At 1:39 p.m. a vehicle was reported to have been struck while the owner was at work. Investigation is ongoing.

04-15-2022
At 12:02 p.m. a store reported a youth in the store who attempted to steal some merchandise. The youth was located, cited for retail theft, and turned over to his mother.
At 3:06 p.m. a caller reported someone struck his vehicle while it was parked outside of a business and left the scene. Investigation is ongoing.

04-16-2022
At 3:01 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana and a pipe in a backpack. He was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

04-17-2022
At 7:21 a.m. a convenience store reported a male had passed a bad check. While in contact with the man, the officer saw a female at the residence that he knew had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the warrant. The man who passed the check was able to pay cash to satisfy his bill.
At 7:22 p.m. a caller reported his adult son showed up at his residence in violation of a domestic abuse injunction. The two spoke briefly before the son became upset and, upon departing, shot a BB gun at the father’s garage causing damage. An officer requested Wausau PD check the son’s last known address and take him into custody for violating the injunction, criminal damage to property, probation violation, and two counts of bail jumping. Wausau officers located the son, arrested him, and turned him over to a Merrill officer.
