03-28-2022
At 9:48 a.m. a caller reported money was stolen from the resident at an assisted living facility. Investigation is ongoing.
At 9:54 a.m. a caller reported someone had stolen a tire and rim from a vehicle parked at a mechanic’s shop and replaced it with a worn tire/rim. Investigation is ongoing.

03-29-2022
At 1:54 a.m. a Lincoln County Deputy requested K9 assistance on a traffic stop. K9 Eros positively alerted to the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, methamphetamine and several methamphetamine pipes were located. The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A passenger was arrested for a warrant.
At 12:47 p.m. a store reported a shoplifter had stolen alcoholic beverages from the store on 03-20-2022. The officer recognized the suspect on the surveillance video, and he will be charged with retail theft.
At 12:48 p.m. a store reported a shoplifter had stolen merchandise. The officer has surveillance video from the store and will be attempting to identify the thief.
At 2:54 p.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

03-30-2022
At 8:45 a.m. two males were reported to have stolen electronic merchandise from a local store. The license plate from the vehicle was provided to officers. Investigation is ongoing.
At 6:15 p.m. officers responded to a residence after a male reported being struck by a female. Through the investigation, it was found that an argument had taken place and it became physical. Charges were forwarded on the female as a result of the incident.

03-31-2022
At 2:41 p.m. a vehicle was reported as stolen from a residence. The vehicle was located in Wausau and the driver was taken into custody.
At 4:13 p.m. a wallet was reported as stolen from a purse at a residential living facility. The wallet was reported to have had cash inside and multiple credit cards. Investigation is on-going.

04-01-2022
At 12:48 a.m. a caller reported someone had struck his vehicle while it was parked in the lot of his place of employment. The driver who struck the vehicle did not report the crash and left the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
At 9:14 a.m. a juvenile was found to be consuming an alcoholic beverage at school. She was cited for underage drinking.
At 4:27 p.m. the owner of a laundromat reported someone damaged a lock to a dryer.

04-02-2022
At 7:33 a.m. a caller reported someone broke into his residence and stolen money while he was gone. The neighbor reported the caller caused the damage himself, as he was intoxicated and has done this before. It was found the man had an open bond with a condition not to consume intoxicants. The man was clearly intoxicated and was consuming intoxicants in the presence of the responding officer. He was arrested for bail jumping.
At 3:45 p.m. Marathon County Sheriff’s Office requested an officer check a residence for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in their county. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was instructed to contact the investigating deputy. Photos were taken of the damage to the involved vehicle.
At 6:26 p.m. a store reported a female had been caught shoplifting merchandise. The female was cited for retail theft.
At 8:09 p.m. a store reported a male inside concealing merchandise in his waistband. The male was located and initially denied having items concealed in his waistband; however, it was clear he did. He then admitted he had concealed the items with the intent of stealing them. He was cited for retail theft.

04-03-2022
At 7:48 p.m. Everest Metro PD requested Merrill officers attempt to locate a male who was reportedly at a tavern in violation of his probation rules. Everest Metro was investigating another matter involving this male, and they may have charges against him as well. The male was located at the tavern and was detained for violating his probation rules. The man became resistive with officers, and he was arrested for resisting an officer and probation violation.
