MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

12-20-21
At approximately 9:16 a.m. Dispatch advised of a two-vehicle crash at the Post Office on 430 E. 2nd St. Both vehicles suffered minor damage.
At approximately 3:27 p.m. a male party who had an active warrant through Lincoln County was observed by an officer walking eastbound on E. Main St. The male party was arrested on scene for the warrant.

12-21-21
At 4:15 p.m. Probation and Parole requested that a male party be taken into custody. The male party was arrested and booked for a probation violation.
At 9:52 p.m. Dispatch advised of a suspicious male party laying in the snow off of Douglas St. The male was intoxicated and was transported home by an officer.

12-22-21
At 10:19 a.m. Probation and Parole requested that a male party be taken into custody. The male party was arrested for probation violation.
At 1:24 p.m. a local department store caught a shoplifter in the store. The shoplifter was cited.
At 6:00 p.m. officers from the City of Merrill Police Department and firefighters from Merrill Fire and EMS participated in “Shop with a Cop” at Wal-Mart.

12-23-21
At approximately 8:24 p.m. officers were dispatched to an apartment building on E. 10th St. for a report of a male party yelling and throwing stuff around in the apartment. The male party was verbally warned for disorderly conduct.

12-24-21
At 2:08 a.m. officers responded to a property on Thielman St. for a report of an intoxicated male party touching a female and causing a disturbance. Contact was made with all involved, and the male party was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct and 4th Degree Sexual Assault.
At 5:32 p.m. officers responded to E. 5th St. for a report of a male and female party yelling at each other. Contact was made the parties involved. Both were sent on their way when it was determined to be a verbal argument only.
At 11:11 p.m. an officer investigated a fraud complaint after the reporting party advised they had responded to a Facebook drawing for $1,500 and were told they had been selected. $50 was requested from the victim to cover processing fees for the winnings. Information was obtained to assist with identifying the suspect.

12-26-21
At 5:30 p.m. officers received information that a female subject who had an active warrant for their arrest was at a business on Pine Ridge Ave. The vehicle they were reported to be in was observed leaving the area and a traffic stop was conducted for a traffic violation. The individual with the warrant was the passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody for the active warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole.
