William H. Ohlmann, age 71, died in a house fire at his home in the Town of Pine River early Friday morning. On Dec. 17, 2021, just before 6:00 a.m., the Lincoln County Dispatch Center received a 911 call advising of a house on fire at W185 State Rd. 64 in the Town of Pine River east of Merrill, a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
“Upon arrival of Sheriff’s Office personnel and the Town of Pine River Fire Department, flames were seen coming out of the windows of the residence,” the release said.
Ohlmann was located inside the residence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rural Fire Control of Antigo, the Town of Hewitt Fire Department, the Town of Texas Fire Department, the Lincoln County Coroner, the Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation State Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Salvation Army also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as of the Sheriff’s Office release on Friday.
