Anthony S. Williams, age 44, of Merrill has been charged with four felony counts of 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault – Intercourse with Person under 12 and two felony counts of 1st Degree Child Sex Assault – Sexual Contact with Person under Age of 13, and all six counts with a modifier as a Repeater. Each count carries with it a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison plus up to 6 additional years per count due to the Repeater modifier. The charges were filed with Lincoln County on Nov. 4, 2021.
The Complaint cites three separate victims who are all related to Williams and stems from incidents that the victims said occurred between 2010 and 2015 when the victims were young minors, alleging Williams had intercourse with the children at several different locations within the city of Merrill during that timeframe. According to the Complaint, some of the victims were as young as four or five years of age when the assaults occurred.
Williams has a string of charges and convictions dating back more than 20 years, including a conviction for 3rd Degree Sexual Assault on June 28, 2000, with a Habitual Criminality Modifier, stemming from charges filed on Sept. 9, 1999. He was also convicted of a Sex Offender Registry Violation for failure to report a change of address in January, 2010.
Williams is scheduled to appear in Lincoln County Court again on Dec. 23, 2021, at 1:30 p.m.
As with all defendants, Williams is presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty in a court of law and convicted of the crime.
